The U-EPIC stakeholder engagement model seeks to:
- Engage with community stakeholders to understand and address their research-based needs,
- Increase community involvement and collaboration within the research design and process, and
- Develop lasting relationships with community stakeholders and build trust in science.
U-EPIC is committed to integrative research approaches which can effectively combine knowledge from multiple scientific fields with locally generated knowledge to produce science-based, community-trusted technology. The U-EPIC commitment to integrative research is driven by the understanding that the solutions to complex infrastructure resilience problems lie in successful collaboration between interdisciplinary scientists and local knowledge experts.
